What this site collects

Short version: the website collects nothing, and client material is treated as confidential by default. The longer version follows, because the short one is the kind of claim people are right to check.

This website

salvage.software is a static site. There are no accounts, no cookies set by us, no forms, no trackers, and no third-party scripts. Nothing you do here is recorded by us.

It is hosted on AWS Amplify, which keeps standard server access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) for operational purposes. That is Amazon's processing, under their terms, and it is the same as for any website you visit.

Fonts are downloaded at build time and served from this domain, so loading a page here makes no request to Google or any other font host.

If you email us

Every contact route on this site is a normal email address. What you send is kept in the mailbox and used to answer you and, if we work together, to run the engagement. It is not added to a mailing list, not sold, and not shared.

Client material

During an engagement, Salvage is routinely given access to source code, infrastructure, logs, and sometimes production data. That material is treated as confidential by default, whether or not an NDA has been signed — and an NDA is available on request before any access is granted.

  • Access is requested at the narrowest scope that does the job, and read-only wherever read-only is enough.
  • Production data containing personal information is avoided where a sanitised copy will do. Where it cannot be avoided, it is handled only for the duration of the work.
  • Credentials are never stored in plain text, never committed, and revocation is requested at the end of the engagement.
  • No client is named publicly, in a case study or anywhere else, without written permission. Anything ever written up about an engagement has the identifying details removed first.

For agency work, the same applies to your end client's material, and non-solicitation terms are available in writing on request.

Analytics

This site is built to support optional Google Analytics, and it is currently switched off. If that changes, this page will be updated before it does — not afterwards.
